- The Studio – Owner or Teacher responsible for the class applicable
- Teacher – Person giving instruction, facilitating or leading the class on any given day or workshop
- Invoice – Generated for bookkeeping and can be issued on request.
- Student – Any person engaging in studio activities
Student Membership
- Invoice is generated at the start of the term and is due on presentation. Students will be required to alert us before start of the new term If the student is not continuing with classes for that term.
- Pay full term fees at the start of each term – monthly payment schedule can be arranged but the Terms below will apply.
- Students will join the Watsapp group for class information and important notices
- Student will commit to attend weekly class dates for the term, Missed classes will be forfeited even if warned in advance.
- Once off Medical Emergencies happen and can be accommodated.
- Holidays are planned long in advance and can be accommodated with prior arrangement, Students have the option to swop to a drop in rate for that term and the studio will assume the classes will resume for the following term, or sit the whole term out.
- Materials, firing, tools and use of studio equipment is included in the fees
- Wheel work requires additional short course outside of class time to be arranged with the teacher concerned, thereafter the student may use class times to practise the wheel. Wheel must be left impeccably clean after use
- Some unique glazes and clay can be charged for at the discretion of the studio
- The Studio is closed from time to time between term break, students will be notified of cancellations. The Term dates are displayed in the studio please take not of public holidays.
- Unfinished or Abandoned projects will either be reclaimed, sold or donated if not collected within 3 months.
- Photos are taken from time to time and shared on social media and used for marketing, please make special mention if this is a problem
- this T&C may be amended, please check in regularly. A copy of the most recent T & C will be printed and displayed in the studio
Once-off or Drop in classes and workshops
- Cost is determined by the Studio on the day of the booking and is payable in full on booking the drop in or workshop
- Cost will be forfeited for a now show on an arranged booking
- Materials, firing, tools and use of studio equipment is included in the cost
- Some unique glazes and clay can be charged for at the discretion of the studio
- Unfinished or Abandoned projects will either be reclaimed, sold or donated if not collected within 3 months at the discretion of the studio
- Photos are taken from time to time and shared on social media and used for marketing, please make special mention if this is a problem
General Rules
- Clay and Glaze dust is harmful if inhaled therefore the students are asked to wipe up all clay bits and Glaze spills and dispose accordingly
- New and beginner Students will be required to complete specific projects to learn or refresh technique and to learn the studio systems
- The studio reclaims clean, uncoloured and unfired clay, please check with the teacher first before putting anything into the reclaim bucket, failure to do so can result in the whole bucket being discarded.
- Tools used need to be cleaned and returned to their place as they are used to ensure other students can find them
- Class is typically 2,5 hours long, workshop and Kids classes may vary, please familiarise yourself with the time needed for the class or workshop to avoid rushing to finish.
- 10 minute Tidy up is compulsory after class, either finish 10 minutes early or stay on, Wipe work surface down, Wash tools in the buckets provided, return tools respectively
- Children under 6 need to be accompanied by a caregiver unless otherwise arranged
- Class is typically 2,5 hours long
- Studio provides basic tools in the studio a small selection of glazes. One Clay is used.

- Firing to glaze temperature 1190
- Up to (but not always including) 2 bags of clay is typical use, however, projects vary therefore discretion of the teacher may request the student purchase additional bags which allows for the clay as well as added materials, glaze, kiln space. This is payable on day of purchase) Students may not bring their own clay.
- Coffee and Tea freely available.
- Regarding Potential damage to made Items while awaiting or during any firing, Pottery at Earthworx, Students and Employees thereof can not be held liable for loss incurred.
- The kiln is filled and fired as often as possible and items will be fired based on space in the kiln. Allow for minimum of 3 weeks turnaround on firing. Load shedding and Kiln Maintenance play a large role in delays.
